How equipment hire works.
1. Get a Quote
Tell us what you need, the site address, and when and how long you need it for. We’ll check availability and send you a quote.
2. Book Your Hire
Once you’re happy with the quote, confirm the dates and we’ll book the equipment in. Let us know about access and ground conditions on site, so we can plan the delivery.
3. Delivery & Off-Hire
The equipment arrives at the agreed time, checked and ready to use, and lifting equipment comes with its current thorough examination certificate. When you’ve finished, call us to off-hire it and we’ll arrange collection.
The kit around your lift?
Most lifts need more than a crane – mats to spread the load, a telehandler to move materials or a MEWP to reach the rigging. Hiring them from us puts the crane and the kit on one order, with one point of contact.
For heavier or more complex lifts, we can arrange a contract lift, where we plan and manage it for you, or crane hire if you have your own Appointed Person.

What does Plant & Equipment Hire actually cover?
Crane mats, rigging equipment, cherry pickers, MEWPS, all selected sized specifically for the ground conditions on your site – whether that’s made ground, a restricted urban plot, or soft or uneven ground where standard bearing pressure figures don’t apply.
How do I know what size mats or rigging my site actually needs?
Rather than guessing, we work it out from your site’s ground bearing pressure and load requirements – we can talk you through this directly, and our online ground bearing pressure calculator and section load charts let you check what a piling mat or restricted plot can take before the crane even arrives.
Can I hire mats and rigging equipment without booking one of your cranes?
Yes. Plant & Equipment Hire is its own service line, so if you need the right mats or rigging for your ground conditions but the lift itself is being handled another way, we can supply the equipment on that basis.
